Gokyo Lakes Trek Overview

The Gokyo Lakes Trek is a breathtaking adventure into the heart of Nepal’s Everest region. Beginning with a scenic flight to Lukla, the trail passes through Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Dole, Machhermo, and finally reaches the beautiful Gokyo Valley.
The sacred Gokyo Lakes are among the highest freshwater lakes in the world and are considered holy by both Hindus and Buddhists. Surrounded by snow-covered peaks and glaciers, these turquoise lakes create one of the most beautiful landscapes in Nepal.
A sunrise hike to Gokyo Ri rewards trekkers with one of the most spectacular mountain panoramas in the Himalayas. The viewpoint offers breathtaking views of Mount Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,485m), and Cho Oyu (8,188m).
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Warm welcome upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport and private transfer to your hotel.
Day 02: Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding
Scenic mountain flight to Lukla followed by a trek to Phakding.
Day 03: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar
Cross suspension bridges and enter Sagarmatha National Park before reaching Namche Bazaar.
Day 04: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar
Rest day with optional hike to Everest View Hotel or Khunde Village.
Day 05: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Dole
Cross Mong La Pass and enter the beautiful Gokyo Valley.
Day 06: Trek from Dole to Machhermo
Trek through alpine meadows and enjoy incredible mountain views.
Day 07: Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo
Reach the stunning Gokyo Lakes and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Day 08: Acclimatization Day in Gokyo
Optional hike to the Fifth Lake for spectacular views of Everest and surrounding peaks.
Day 09: Hike to Gokyo Ri (5,360m) and Trek to Dole
Early morning sunrise hike followed by descent to Dole.
Day 10: Trek from Dole to Tengboche
Pass through Phortse Village and enjoy Himalayan scenery.
Day 11: Trek from Tengboche to Monjo
Visit Tengboche Monastery and descend towards Monjo.
Day 12: Trek from Monjo to Lukla
Final trekking day through scenic Sherpa villages.
Day 13: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu
Enjoy a spectacular mountain flight back to Kathmandu.
Day 14: Buffer Day in Kathmandu
