Trip Overview
This journey through Nepal is an invitation to experience one of the most inspiring destinations on Earth—where ancient civilizations, deep spirituality, and the world’s greatest mountain landscapes exist side by side. Annapurna Base Camp Trek & Nepal Experience is a carefully crafted 14-night / 15-day itinerary designed for travelers seeking culture, nature, and meaningful adventure. It combines the cultural richness of the Kathmandu Valley with a spectacular 9-day Himalayan trek into the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary.
The adventure begins in Kathmandu, often described as an open-air museum. In just two immersive days, travelers explore all seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the Kathmandu Valley. These include sacred Hindu temples, monumental Buddhist stupas, and medieval royal cities that reveal Nepal’s extraordinary historical depth. From the incense-filled courtyards of Pashupatinath Temple to the serene eyes of Boudhanath Stupa and the hilltop shrine of Swayambhunath, every visit offers insight into Nepal’s living traditions. Walking through ancient Durbar Squares and vibrant local markets provides a genuine connection to daily life and centuries-old craftsmanship.
Leaving the cultural heart of Nepal behind, the journey continues to Pokhara, a tranquil city set beneath the Annapurna range. Famous for its natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere, Pokhara is also Nepal’s main hub for outdoor adventure. Here, travelers enjoy scenic lakeside views, surrounding hills, and optional activities such as boating, short hikes, and photography before beginning the trek.
From Pokhara, the trail ascends gradually into the Annapurna region. Over nine days of trekking, the route follows ancestral paths through terraced farmlands, bamboo forests, rhododendron forests, and traditional Gurung villages like Ghandruk and Chhomrong. Nights are spent in cozy tea houses, offering warm hospitality and an authentic mountain experience.
As altitude increases, landscapes become more dramatic and the sense of remoteness deepens. Glacial rivers, fluttering prayer flags, and towering Himalayan peaks guide the way until reaching Annapurna Base Camp. This natural amphitheater of ice and stone, surrounded by giants such as Annapurna I and Machhapuchhare, is one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in the Himalayas.
More than just a trek, this journey is a passage through culture, spirituality, and raw natural beauty—an unforgettable Nepal experience designed for curious and active travelers.

Tour Itinerary
The offered itinerary on this website is carefully planned; however, it may be subject to minor adjustments. The sequence of sightseeing, scheduled touristic activities, attractions, and accommodations may be modified due to weather conditions, local circumstances, or other factors beyond the control of our trusted local travel partner in Nepal. Any adjustments will always be made with the highest priority on guest safety, comfort, and the overall quality of the travel experience.
Arrive in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal and widely known as the Temple City, located in the heart of the Himalayas and serving as the starting point of your journey through the greater Himalayan region of South Asia. The city is located at an elevation of approximately 1,400 meters (4,593 feet).
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed in the arrival hall by an airport representative from Jagadamba Holidays, our appointed local partner in Nepal. The representative will be easily identifiable by a clearly displayed welcome sign bearing the name “Natura Himalaya Tours.”
You will then be transferred by private vehicle to your hotel in Thamel, Kathmandu’s main tourist district. The airport transfer covers a distance of approximately 7 kilometers and usually takes around 40 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Upon arrival at the hotel, luggage assistance will be provided. Early check-in is subject to availability; if rooms are not immediately ready, your luggage will be securely stored. Overnight accommodation with breakfast will be provided on a twin-sharing basis in a deluxe room at Kathmandu Guest House or a similar standard hotel in Thamel.
The remainder of the day is free for leisure, allowing time to relax or explore Kathmandu’s cultural attractions at your own pace. Thamel offers a variety of cafés, local shops, and traditional streets, providing a gentle introduction to the city’s atmosphere.
In the afternoon or early evening, you will meet our local partner and tour coordinator, Mr Narendra Bohara, at the hotel for a personal orientation session. During this meeting, the trekking plan will be discussed, your local trekking guide will be introduced, necessary travel procedures will be completed, and any remaining arrangements finalised. The remainder of the day is left free, allowing you to rest after your journey and slowly adjust to the rhythm of Nepal’s capital city.
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, begin your Kathmandu sightseeing tour around 8–9 AM with a journey through the city’s most sacred religious landmarks. The day starts at Swayambhunath, popularly known as the Monkey Temple, located on a hilltop overlooking the Kathmandu Valley. This ancient stupa offers panoramic views and reflects a unique blend of Buddhist and Hindu traditions, making it one of the most important cultural sites in Nepal.
The tour continues to Boudhanath, one of the largest and most significant Buddhist stupas in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surrounded by monasteries, prayer wheels, and colorful flags, Boudhanath provides a peaceful spiritual atmosphere. Walking around the stupa alongside monks and pilgrims offers an authentic insight into Nepal’s rich Buddhist heritage.
The day concludes with a visit to Pashupatinath, the holiest Hindu temple complex in Nepal, set on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this revered site allows visitors to observe traditional Hindu rituals and ceremonies. Together, these iconic landmarks highlight the spiritual harmony of Hinduism and Buddhism, creating a meaningful and enriching experience for travelers exploring Kathmandu.

Essential Trip Information
This trip offers a complete Himalayan journey combining mountain trekking, culture, and nature. You will trek through traditional villages, forests, and river valleys to reach Annapurna Base Camp, enjoy close-up views of iconic Himalayan peaks, relax at natural hot springs, and take part in guided cultural tours in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
Yes, you can. Beginners and people with average fitness can comfortably complete this trip, as it follows well-marked trails, requires no technical skills, and is paced to suit the group with regular rest and acclimatization breaks; daily walks are manageable, porter support helps reduce physical strain, and it is suitable for participants aged 12 years and above with basic fitness and appropriate adult supervision.
Most trekking days involve 5–7 hours of walking on mountain trails and stone steps. Some days include uphill sections, but the pace is slow and adjusted to the group’s condition.
The highest point of the trip is 4,130 meters (13,550 ft) at Annapurna Base Camp. While altitude sickness is possible at higher elevations, the itinerary is planned with a gradual ascent and proper acclimatization to reduce risk. Our guides are trained to identify and manage symptoms early through rest, hydration, and adjustment of pace. In rare or severe cases, an emergency helicopter evacuation can be arranged to ensure participant safety.
The best time to do this trip is during Spring (March–May) and Autumn (September–November). Spring offers mild temperatures and blooming rhododendrons, while Autumn is known for clear skies and stable weather. Daytime temperatures generally range from 10°C to 20°C at lower altitudes and 5°C to 10°C at higher elevations, while nights can drop to 0°C or below near base camp, so warm clothing is essential.
Yes, guide and porter are included. A Nepalese licensed, English-speaking trekking guide is assigned for every five trekkers, and one porter is assigned for every two trekkers. The guide is responsible for leading the trek, managing logistics, and ensuring safety throughout the journey, while the porters carry your main luggage (up to 12.5 kg per person), allowing you to trek comfortably with only a small daypack.
Yes. Travel insurance is mandatory and must cover high-altitude trekking up to at least 4,500 meters, emergency medical treatment, and emergency helicopter evacuation in Nepal. We do not recommend or endorse any specific insurance provider. Participants may choose any reputable international insurance company, such as UNIQA Insurance Group AG, World Nomads, Allianz SE, or Cover-More Insurance Services Pty Ltd, provided these coverages are clearly included. Participants are solely responsible for ensuring their insurance meets these requirements. Policies that do not explicitly include high-altitude trekking and helicopter evacuation are not valid for rescue operations or insurance claims during Himalayan trekking.
All rooms are twin-sharing by default. If you require a private or single room, a single supplement will apply. During the trek up to Chhomrong, it is generally possible to provide twin-sharing rooms, and in some places even single rooms with an additional cot, subject to availability. However, above Chhomrong, due to limited lodges and rooms, especially in peak season, accommodation is mostly in shared rooms with triple, quad, or multiple beds, where each trekker is provided a separate bed.
In Kathmandu and Pokhara, accommodation is provided in 3-star deluxe hotels on a twin-sharing basis, with a daily buffet breakfast included. Lunch and dinner are not provided in the cities, allowing you the flexibility to choose your own dining options.
During the trek, all meals—including breakfast, lunch, and dinner—are provided at local teahouse lodges. Meals include Nepali, Asian, and simple Western dishes, which are freshly cooked and generally safe to eat. Dal Bhat is highly recommended as the most reliable and nutritious meal. At breakfast time, unlimited hot drinks such as tea or coffee are provided, while all other drinks—including boiled water, soft drinks, and any available bottled water—are at your own expense. For health and safety, we strongly recommend drinking boiled water, as bottled water is not available above Chhomrong.
Yes, basic facilities such as Wi-Fi, electricity, and hot showers are available in many teahouse lodges, especially at lower altitudes, but these services are often limited and usually available at an additional cost. As you go to higher elevations, the availability and reliability of these facilities decrease.
Laundry service is available only in the cities (such as Kathmandu and Pokhara) and is not available during the trek.
You will need basic trekking gear such as sturdy trekking boots, warm clothing layers, a rain jacket, and a comfortable daypack. Once your trip is confirmed, we will provide a standard travel and trekking checklist to help you prepare properly. Most essential trekking gear and equipment can be rented or purchased locally in Nepal, especially in Kathmandu and Pokhara, where there are many reliable trekking gear shops offering a wide range of options.
Yes. All activities as outlined in the tour plan are included, along with transportation, required trekking permits, and a guided cultural sightseeing tour in Kathmandu as described in the itinerary. However, sightseeing entry fees for monuments are not included and must be paid directly at each site; your cultural guide will assist you at the entrances.
All cancellation and refund terms must be reviewed before trip booking as outlined on our website, including the service inclusions and exclusions. Refund eligibility depends on the time of cancellation and the services already booked and confirmed.
In the event of an early return from the trek or tour for any reason—including illness, personal reasons, or unforeseen circumstances—all additional costs must be borne by the trekker. There will be no refund, no adjustment, and no credit for any unused services or trip portions, regardless of the reason for early departure. While assistance will be provided where possible, all related expenses remain the responsibility of the client.
This trip offers a perfect balance of adventure, safety, comfort, and culture. With experienced guides, reliable porter support, enriching cultural sightseeing, transparent inclusions, and a well-paced Annapurna Base Camp Trek & Nepal Experience itinerary, it delivers a truly rewarding Nepal experience in the heart of the Himalayas, surrounded by an authentic mountain spirit.
